Andrés Gironda Limachi

68 years old, he lives in a rural community in Achacachi, La Paz – Bolivia. with his wife and granddaughter, whom he helps support despite the economic difficulties his family faces. For years, he worked in agriculture, artisanal weaving, and selling products to generate income, but cataracts in both eyes have progressively reduced his vision, limiting his ability to work, move safely, and perform daily activities independently.

Today, Andrés increasingly relies on his wife’s support for basic tasks and has seen his quality of life, emotional well-being, and autonomy affected. For him, cataract surgery represents much more than regaining sight: it means returning to work, actively participating in his home, recovering his independence, and continuing to support his family with dignity. Your support can help Andrés see a future with hope again.
